Lord Daridev, Daryappa, Dargoba, Dariling,.

This is a Very Important place of Lord Dareshwar. This God is also called as Daridev, Daryappa, Dargoba, Dariling,. This is Kuldev of people who come here. This is very historical religious place. This comes in Sangli district, Jat taluka, near Muchandi village. From muchandi this place nearly 4/5 Km long, Now from Maharashtra – Karnataka boundary Now very nice road from Kanmadi to Dargoba Temple for any four wheeler vehicle

There is a village called Muchundi in Jat taluka of Sangli district in Maharashtra. At some distance from this village there was a village called Tupahatti In this Tupahatti village a king named “Satvik” was ruling. Tupahatti was the capital of his kingdom. His wife’s name was Sushilarani. There were senior and knowledgeable ministers in the state.

Tupahatti  village was situated in the jungle. Thorny trees like acacias and cactuses were in abundance. There were also many tamarind trees. As it is a dense forest, ferocious animals like wild boars, cheetahs, bears as well as deer, rabbits, were present in the forest. The village was small but there were dairy cows in every house. As Krishna’s gokula, every household milked in abundance, hence the name Tupahatti.

The couple Satvik Raja and Sushilarani were Satvik, Sadachari and Sushil as the name suggests. He had immense love for his subjects. The king always strived for the happiness of his subjects. His behavior was religious. Even though all the pleasures were rolling at his feet, he had one sorrow. That is, they had no sons. This is what she was missing in life. So they always remain depressed. He used to spend time in “Vratavaiklya”, worship, fasting.

In the nearby village of Muchandi, the patriarch of his family lived in a monastery. His name was Guru Brahmananda. He was a Shiva Yogi great ascetic and “Brahma Gnani”. He had realized himself. He used to provide food to the devotees who surrendered at his feet. King Satvik and Queen Sushila used to go to Muchundi for peace of mind and visit their guru. Listening to their sermons. Sadhguru Brahmananda asked him to continue in Shiva worship and Shiva meditation. But knowing that a childless woman has no “Mukti”, Rani always meditated on God to get a son. The queen was obsessed with getting a son. Sadguru Brahmananda Swamini understood this anguish of her hear

One day Swami called King Satvik and Queen Sushila to his monastery. He preached to them and asked them to perform Varadshankar Puja every Monday in the name of Saptarshi. Swami put a coconut in Sushilarani’s “Otit”. The king and the queen placed their heads at the feet of Brahmananda Swami with a full oti. Swami blessed Sushilarani with Putravatibhava. The king and queen returned to the palace with a satisfied heart. He started Akhand Varadshankar Puja as instructed by the Guru. The names of Saptarshis brought worship and sassoh. Not only that, he also completed the fast of sixteen Mondays.

Due to the worship of Lord Shankara and the blessings of Brahmananda Guru, a son was born to Queen Sushila Devi early in the morning on the day of Chaitra Vaidya Panchami. The king and queen were very pleased to see that bright son. The whole town was happy. Mangal Geeta started singing from house to house. The sattvik king had a son, so all the animals, birds, flowers and leaves were happy. The wind spread the news of the birth of a son in all directions. A few days later, the new born son was given a “Dristlinga” by Sadguru Brahmananda Swami. And as per Swami’s wish, the baby was named “Ishwar”.

Four years after the birth of Ishwar, Sushilarani gave birth to a daughter. Her name was given as Jayadevi. She later came to be known as “Mata Jakkava”, the sister of Sri Darideva. As per the wish of Darideva, the goddess “Mata Jakkava” is first worshiped before the worship of Darideva.

King Satvik i.e. “Rishi Varishta” and Mother Sushilarani i.e. “Mahasati Arundhati” incarnated on earth. Guru Brahmananda Swami i.e. “Rishi Bharatdwaj:” and Guru Shankarananda Swami i.e. “Rishi Vishwamitra” incarnated on earth. Ishvara i.e. “Kalbhairav, Chief of Shiva Parvati” incarnated on earth.

Ishwar means incarnation of God. Some call them Daridev, Daryappa, Dargoba, Dareshwar while Muslim brothers are called Darekhan.

The complete history of Darideva is given in detail in Darideva Katha.
